Deadline has reported that the second season of Marvel Studios’ animated series What If…? will premiere on Disney+ on December 22. Episodes will be released one at a time on the streaming service over the following nine days.

What If…? is a reimagining of notable Marvel Cinematic Universe events and explores the multiverse of possibilities. The trailer briefly showcases some aspects of the multiverse that will be featured in the upcoming season.
Season two will follow The Watcher, played by Jeffrey Wright (Westworld, The Batman), as he guides the audience across the multiverse and meeting both familiar and new faces in the MCU. Wright narrates the series.
Along with Wright, various MCU stars will be reprising their roles in season two. Returning will be Hayley Atwell (Captain America: The First Avenger, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One) as Captain Carter, Josh Keaton (The Spectacular Spider-Man, Voltron: Legendary Defender) as Captain America, and Lake Bell (No Strings Attached, The Secret Life of Pets) as Black Widow, according to Variety.
Deadline reports that the season is expected to feature the characters of Hela, Nebula, and Happy Hogan.
Episodes of What If…? are directed by Bryan Andrews (Avengers: Endgame, Doctor Strange) and written by AC Bradley (Ms. Marvel, Arrow). Both Andrews and Bradley executive produce the series.
Season one of What If…? debuted on Disney+ on August 11, 2021 and the cast featured Chris Hemsworth (Thor: Love and Thunder, Snow White and the Huntsman) as Thor, Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock, The Imitation Game) as Doctor Strange, Elizabeth Olsen (Love & Death, WandaVision) as Scarlet Witch, Michael B. Jordan (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Fantastic Four) as Killmonger, Ross Marquad (The Walking Dead, Invincible) as Ultron, and Toby Jones (The Long Shadow, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets) as Arnim Zola.
