Disney+ has released a trailer for Marvel Zombies filled with all the animated gore that has fans hyped. The series takes place in an alternate reality in which the Avengers have been infected with a zombie virus. The few remaining survivors must band together in order to fight off the horde and ensure humanity’s survival. According to mxdwn, Zombie’s is inspired by episode five of What If…?, an anthology series that explored alternate realities within the Marvel universe. Episode five is a variation on the ending of both Ant-Man and The Wasp and Avengers: Endgame.
All four episodes of the series will premiere on September 24th, a week earlier than initially expected. The series will feature voices from many previous Marvel series including Elizabeth Olsen (WandaVision, Avengers: Age Of Ultron), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man, The Perks Of Being A Wallflower), Florence Pugh (Thunderbolts, Little Women), David Harbour (Thunderbolts. Stranger Things), Tessa Thompson (Creed, Thor: Ragnarok), Simu Liu (Shang-Chi and the Legend of Ten Rings, Barbie), Awkwafina (Shang-Chi and the Legend of Ten Rings, The Farewell), Hailee Steinfeld (Hawkeye, Pitch Perfect), Wyatt Russell (22 Jumpstreet, Thunderbolts), Randall Park (WandaVision, The Interview), Iman Vellani (The Marvels, Ms. Marvel) and Dominique Thorn (Ironheart, Freaky Tales).
The series is created by Bryan Andrews (Samurai Jack, What If..?) and Zeb Wells (Robot Chicken, Deadpool & Wolverine). Wells and Andrews will be joined by Kevin Feige (Black Panther, What Of…?), Louis D’Esposito (Iron Man, Captain America: First Avenger), Brad Winderbaum (Black Widow, Ant-Man), Dana Vasquez-Eberhardt (I Am Groot, What If…?) as executive producers along with Danielle Costa (Black Widow, Black Panther) and Carrie Wassenaar (I Am Groot, What If…?) as producers.
