Another Star Wars animated series is hitting streaming. On Thursday, April 5, Disney+ officially released the trailer for the upcoming series Star Wars: Tales of The Empire along with key art and trailer stills. The new series will follow the 2022 animated series Star Wars: Tales of The Jedi and will be released on May 4th, 2024, known to fans of the franchise as “Star Wars Day”.
The official press release describes the new series as a new look into the Galactic Empire from a different Point of View. The description reads, “Star Wars: Tales of the Empire” is a six-episode journey into the fearsome Galactic Empire through the eyes of two warriors on divergent paths, set during different eras. After losing everything, young Morgan Elsbeth navigates the expanding Imperial world toward a path of vengeance, while former Jedi Barriss Offee does what she must to survive a rapidly changing galaxy. The choices they make will define their destinies”
In the new trailer, we see glimpses of Morgan Elsbeth and ex-Jedi Barriss Offee as they journey on their training along the path to join the galactic empire. While they both have different motivations that coaxed them towards the dark side, the two will find that their end game may end up different as well. As the trailer continues, the montage is filled with lightsaber battles, betrayal, and to top it all off, ends with the iconic breathing of the infamous Darth Vader, followed by a voice that bellows out the phrase, “Long live the empire”.
Voice actors for the series include Diana Lee Inosanto (Ahsoka), Meredith Salenger (The Journey of Natty Gann), Rya Kihlstedt (Home Alone 3), Wing T. Chao (The Mandalorian), Lars Mikkelsen (The Day Will Come, Ahsoka), Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Peter Pan) and Matthew Wood (Star Wars III: Revenge of the Sith)
All six episodes of the new series, Star Wars: Tales of The Empire will be streaming on Disney+ starting May 4th. You can watch the new trailer below!
