The season follows a new drama teacher, played by Kate Reinders (Work It), and her pursuits to reinstate the arts in East High’s students through a performance of High School Musical. Starring Sofia Wylie (Andi Mack), Matt Cornett (Bella and the Bulldogs), Larry Saperstein (Fan Girl), and Julia Lester (Bella and the Bulldogs), High School Musical: The Musical: The Series will premiere its second season on May 14. The upcoming season will follow East High’s drama students’ as they prepare to perform Beauty and the Beast as their spring musical, competing with North High to win a distinguished student theater competition. The season will feature guest stars Derek Hough (Dancing with the Stars), Olivia Rose Keegan (Days of Our Lives), Andrew Barth Feldman (Ben Platt Live), Roman Banks (Dear Evan Hanson), and Asher Angel (Shazam!).
