Disney+ has released a new trailer for their highly anticipated Star Wars limited series, Obi-Wan Kenobi. The trailer comes on Star Wars Day, May 4th, which comes from the well-known Star Wars saying, “May The Force Be With You.”
The streaming service also revaled a new poster for the series, which shows a large image of Obi-Wan Kenobi, played by Ewan McGregor (Trainspotting), accompanied by a smaller image of Darth Vader, played by Hayden Christensen (Jumper).

The series will take place ten years after the events of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith, which showed Kenobi losing his apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, to the dark side of the force and joining forces with Darth Sidious, or Palpatine, to help form the Galactic Empire.
In the trailer, Kenobi is seen talking with Owen Lars, the half-brother of Skywalker who is played by Joel Edgerton (The Gift), who is looking after Skywalker’s son, Luke. Kenobi pleads with Lars for Luke to be trained as a Jedi, but Lars pushes back on the idea due to Kenobi’s inability to keep Anakin from turning to the dark side.
We also see scenes where he is on the run from the Empire as their Inquisitors, who are instructed to hunt down any remaining Jedi, look for Kenobi. At the end of the trailer, we see a still image of Vader turning on his suit along with his signature robotic breathing.
The show will premiere on Disney+ May 27th with the show’s first two episodes. The original date was May 25th, but was pushed back two days for reasons still unknown. Obi-Wan Kenobi will release new episodes every Wednesday up until the first season’s finale on June 22nd.
Obi-Wan Kenobi stars McGregor, Christensen, Edgarton, Kumail Nanjiani (The Big Sick), Moses Ingram (The Queen’s Gambit), Rupert Friend (Homeland), Bonnie Piesse (The Vow), and O’Shea Jackson Jr (Straight Outta Compton).
