According to Deadline, an official clip has been released for the newest installment of The Mandalorian. The upcoming third season of the live-action Lucasfilm series will premiere on March 1st.
The clip is available below.
The clip reveals the return of Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones, The Last of Us) as Mando (or Din Djarin), along with Grogu and Greef Karga.
Greef tells Mando: “I’m confused, I thought you had completed your mission but you’re still running around here with the same little critter,” referring to Grogu, who seems uninterested in the conversation.
“It’s complicated,” says Mando. “I completed my quest; he returned to me. I removed my helmet, and now I am an apostate.”
Via Screen Rant, “The Mandalorian season 3 is likely to dive much deeper into Mandalorian culture and history. Season 2 saw Din Djarin encounter Bo-Katan and her Nite Owls, and he agreed to help them reclaim Mandalore if they assisted him in recovering the Child. Din defeated Moff Gideon in combat, taking the Darksaber and unwittingly becoming Mandalore’s rightful ruler. As seen in The Book of Boba Fett, not all Mandalorians are content to leave the Darksaber with Din Djarin, and he is likely to find himself challenged as he attempts to reunite the scattered Mandalorians. In order to wield the Darksaber, Din will have to train; non-Jedi can use lightsabers, but they need to practice meditative techniques that allow them to bond with the blade, and Din Djarin doesn’t know any of these at present.”
The official trailer, featured below, was released mid-January and boasted record 83.5 million views. Additionally, a small clip, also available below, was posted during the Super Bowl last Sunday. The series is highly anticipated by fans of the Star Wars franchise. It claims 91% critic rating and a 93% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, along with fourteen Primetime Emmy awards.
The cast includes Amy Sedaris (Strangers with Candy, BoJack Horseman) as mechanic Peli Motto; Giancarlo Esposito (Kaleidoscope, Dear White People) as Goff Mideon; Katee Sackhoff (Another Life, Longmire) as Bo-Katan Kryze; Emily Swallow (Supernatural, Haunting of the Mary Celeste) as the Armourer; and Carl Weathers (Chicago Justice, Rocky) as Greef Karga.
Seasons one and two of The Mandalorian are currently streaming exclusively on Disney+.
