After a few days of speculation and rumors, Disney+ and Marvel have officially confirmed Hailee Steinfeld (Edge of Seventeen) as Kate Bishop in the upcoming MCU series Hawkeye, according to Marvel.com. Following leaked footage of Steinfeld on the set for a subway scene, there were reports that the singer and actress would take on the trainee role of Bishop for the new series. She was confirmed by Kevin Feige (Iron Man) during the Marvel Studios presentation at the Disney Investors Day Presentation that she would portray this comic book character.
The confirmed news of Steinfeld’s casting follows the announcement that Vera Farmiga (The Departed), Florence Pugh (Midsommar), Tony Dalton (Better Call Saul), Fra Fee (Les Misérables), Zahn McClarnon (Barkskins, Fargo), and newcomer Alaqua Cox would be joining the series’ cast. Hawkeye will center on the events following Avengers: Infinity War and Clint Barton, or Hawkeye, as he navigates the new world with Bishop and Lucky the Pizza Dog at his side. Jeremy Renner (Wind River) will reprise his role as Barton and his superhero alter-ego Hawkeye in the upcoming series.
