Disney+’s Loki actor Jack Veal (The End of the F**ing World, The Corrupted) has shared hopeful news with his fans after his shocking reveal of being homeless at 17, Deadline reports. The star went viral after he shared his situation on social media a few days back, stating that he was living in a trailer in London and suffered from physical and emotional abuse in his previous household.
“Hi. I’m a famous actor, I’m 17, and I’m homeless,” Veal explained in one of his TikTok posts via Deadline. “I haven’t mentioned much about what’s been going on in my life, but I think it’s time to reveal the truth. Without delving too much into the details, I was abused at home. It was physical violence, emotional abuse and etcetera.”
Veal continued via Deadline, “I didn’t have a very good upbringing. I’ve struggled with mental health. I have autism, ADHD, and am being screened for bipolar and psychosis.”
According to Deadline, the actor explained in the video that he was not able to live with his grandfather because he is terminally ill by saying, “I have nowhere else to go. And I need help.”
According to Deadline, Veal claimed that he asked for help from social services, but he was unable to obtain it. He has been “sleeping in a trailer that has smashed-in windows” and explained that it “is unsafe, and is two hours away from my work.”
In the first TikTok post, according to Deadline, Veal asked help from his followers to share the video as much as they could to be able to “spread the message of how the government are treating kids.”
After going viral in a matter of a day, according to Deadline, Veal posted a new TikTok video in which he said he “just got a call from social services saying they want a meeting with me tomorrow to essentially get me into foster care and supporting accommodations.”
“I don’t know what you guys have done but it’s gotten out there and it’s really, really helped me,” an emotional Veal concluded. “They’re taking action now. They’re actually doing something. So God bless you all. Thank you so much. This is the first time they’ve ever considered me for accommodation.” Both of these posts can be found on Deadline.
Loki seasons one and two are currently streaming on Disney+.
