Zendaya will star in the comedic Disney Channel Original Movie Zapped, set to premiere on Friday, June 27.
Zapped centers on young girl, Zoey, whose organized life is turned upside down when her mother remarries. She is thrown into a family of rambunctious, chaotic, messy boys and a male dog. She uncovers a Smartphone app that can magically control boys. Also starring in the film is Spencer Boldman (Lab Rats) as Jackson, a boy who stands out from the rest of the crowd at school. Zapped is based on the popular book Boys are Dogs by Leslie Margolis. Rachel Skorets wrote the screenplay with revisions by Matt Eddy and Billy Eddy.
Zapped also stars Chanelle Peloso (Radio Rebel) as Rachel Todds, Emilia McCarthy (Hemlock Grove) as Taylor Dean, and Adam DiMarco (Radio Rebel) as Adam Thompson.
Zapped will have a multiplatform schedule and will first be available to Disney Channel SVOD and verified WATCH Disney Channel users on WATCHDisneyChannel.com and the WATCH Disney Channel app on Monday, June 23.
Off-Leash Teleproductions produces Zapped. Peter DeLuise (16 Wishes, Kyle XY) directed. It is executive produced by Jane Goldenring (Radio Rebel, My First Mister), Carol Baum (Father of the Bride, The Good Girl), Michael Prupas (The Kennedys, Cyberbully) and Harvey Khan (Spooksville). Lisa Towers (The Christmas Choir) acts as producer.
The television premiere of Zapped is on Friday, June 27 at 8:00 p.m., ET/PT on Disney Channel.
