Deadline has reported that Disney+ has cancelled National Treasure: Edge of History after one season. The series is an expansion of the National Treasure film franchise and is produced by ABC Signature and Disney Branded Television.
The show follows Jess, played by Lisette Olivera (We Need to Do Something, Total Eclipse), a DACA dreamer who goes on the adventure of a lifetime to search for answers about her family, uncover truth about the past, and save a lost Pan-American treasure. It was released on December 14, 2022.
The series is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer (Bad Boys For Life, Top Gun: Maverick), directed by Jon Turteltaub (Jericho, The Meg), and written by Marianne and Cormac Wibberley (L.A.’s Finest, The 6th Day) and Rick Muirragui (Whiskey Cavalier, Suits). It is executive produced by the Wibberley’s, Turteltaub, Bruckheimer, Muirragu, KristieAnne Reed (Lucifer, CSI: Vegas), and Jonathan Littman (Fire Country, Hightown).
Along with Olivera, National Treasure: Edge of History starred Lyndon Smith (The Forager, Evil Intent), Jordan Rodrigues (Dance Academy, The Fosters), Jake Austin Walker (Rectify, Stargirl), Zuri Reed (Flatbush Misdemeanors, The Get Down), and Antonio Cipriano (Shelter, Safehaven).
The series feature Justin Bartha (The New Normal, The Good Fight) reprising his role as Riley Poole from the original National Treasure.
