Disney+ Announces Season Two Premiere Date, Trailer For ‘The Mysterious Benedict Society’

The second season of the tween adventure series, The Mysterious Benedict Society, will come to Disney+ on October 26, per Deadline. The season premiere date was paired with a brand new trailer. View the video below.

Deadline reports the series is based on Trenton Lee Stewart’s (The Pathfinders Society, The Secret Keepers) New York Times bestselling book series of the same name. The show stars Tony Hale (Veep, Nine Days) in dual roles as Mr. Benedict, and his nefarious twin brother, Dr. L.D. Curtain. As the leader of this mysterious society, Mr. Benedict recruits four talented orphans to his exclusive group. Eventually, the four pupils must use their wits to thwart his evil brother’s plan for world domination.

Season two finds the fearsome foursome on another mission to save the world – and this time around, Mr. Benedict himself after he’s kidnapped. Deadline reports the cast includes Mystic Inscho (A Handful of Rust) as Reynie, Emmy DeOliveira (Lizzie Borden Took an Axe, Muggle House) as Kate, Seth Carr (Breaking In, The Main Event) as Sticky, and Marta Kessler (The Sect, Abigail) as Constance. The series also stars MaameYaa Boafo (Ramy, Bluff City Law), Ryan Hurst (Remember the Titans, Outsiders), Gia Sandhu (A Perfect Plan, Beeba Boys), and Kristen Schaal (The Last Man on Earth, Bob’s Burgers).

Darren Swimmer (Control, Melrose Place) and Todd Slavkin (Shadowhunters, Natural Selection) are co-showrunners with Halcyon Studio and 20th Television executive producing, via Deadline. The show’s creators and writers, Phil Hay (Destroyer, The Invitation) and Matt Manfredi (R.I.P.D., Bug), executive produce along with James Bobin (Muppets Most Wanted, Dora and the Lost City of Gold), Karen Kehela (Inside Man, A Beautiful Mind), Jamie Tarses (The Wilds, Primeval), and Deepak Nayar (Bend It Like Beckham, Vampire Academy).

Season two of The Mysterious Benedict Society will have a two-episode premiere. New episodes will then air weekly only on Disney+.
