Disney+ Announces New ‘The Simpsons’ Special, ‘The Good, The Bart, and The Loki,’ Dropping Next Week

The summer of 2021 has been ruled by Loki. With his new show, Loki,  premiering in June on Disney+, the entire superhero fandom has kept its attention on the God of Mischief. Now, The Simpsons are getting in on the summer of Loki with a new special coming to Disney+.

In press release from Disney Media and Entertainment Distribution, the partnership between two of the biggest entertainment juggernauts of the 21st century, The Simpsons and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, was announced. The special, titled The Good, The Bart, and The Loki, will premiere Wednesday, July 7. The penultimate episode of Loki is also set to be released that day so fans will have an overload of the cunning villain.

Tom Hiddleston (Kong: Skull Island), who plays Loki in the new series, has offered his voice for the special as well. He will be joined on screen by many of the colorful characters that fill the town of Springfield.

The Good, The Bart, and The Loki follows the first Simpson’s special with Disney, Maggie Simpson: The Force Awakens from Its Nap, which was a crossover between the Star Wars franchise and The Simpsons. Just like the Star Wars franchise, the MCU is one of the biggest packages in Disney+’s streaming catalog. The crossover between these giant franchises is a fun way for Disney to flex their streaming might.

The Simpsons is currently in its 32nd season, which is a record, and has won 34 Emmy Awards throughout the years.

Fans of Loki should be prepared for an extended binge this Wednesday as both the fifth episode of the show and the special will be released on Disney+.
