Following the 2020 Disney Investors Day, Marvel fans were greeted with new information concerning the cast and crew of the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe series She-Hulk. Following the call, it has now been announced to be a half-hour legal comedy from the President of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige, according to Collider. Currently, it is unknown how many episodes the series’ first season will consist of. However, this interesting creative decision follows the experimental comedic scene featured in the trailers for the other upcoming MCU series WandaVision.
She-Hulk will feature the titular comic book superhero, or Jennifer Walters, to be portrayed by Tatiana Maslany (Perry Mason). Additionally, the series will mark the return of Mark Ruffalo (Spotlight) as the Hulk in addition to Tim Roth (Reservoir Dogs) who will reprise his role as The Abomination, or Emil Blonsky, which was last seen in the 2008 film The Incredible Hulk. The series will also be directed by the likes of Anu Valia (Lucia) and Kat Coiro (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia). It is currently unknown when the new Marvel series will begin production and premiere on the Disney streaming service.
The Disney+ series will center on exploring the wider scope of the Hulk universe with Ruffalo’s Hulk character never appearing in a stand-alone project within the MCU. This will act as the first instance of a stand-alone Hulk project centering around the story of Walters, or She-Hulk. Currently, it is unclear how the characters will be incorporated into a legal setting.
