Directors For Disney+’s ‘Star Wars: Skeleton Crew’ Have Been Revealed

According to Comicbook, Jon Watts (Spider-Man: Far From Home, I Can See You), Daniel Kwan (Everything Everywhere All At Once, Swiss Army Man), Daniel Scheinert (Everything Everywhere All At Once, The Death of Dick Long), David Lowery (Peter Pan & Wendy, Pete’s Dragon), Jake Schreier (Paper Towns, Beef), Bryce Dallas Howard (The Help, Jurassic World) and Lee Isaac Chung (Minari, Twisters) are the directors of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew. Head writer and executive producer Watts will be directing the first and last episodes of the show. The series is already starting off strong with the Spider-Man trilogy director, and even more talented directors follow.

Lowery will be taking over the directing for the second and third episodes. Kwan and Scheinert, known as “The Daniels,” are directing the fourth episode. They are a filmmaker duo who made the Best Picture winner, Everything Everywhere All at Once. Comicbook believed they were the most distinguished filmmakers for the series.

Beef director Schreier is directing episode five. The sixth episode is directed by Howard, who is well known for directing The Mandalorian’s best episodes. Chung is in charge of directing episode seven and is best known for receiving Oscar nominations for directing and writing the 2020 show Minari.

Comicbook states that Disney+ and Lucasfilm have selected the most impressive directors for Star Wars: Skeleton Crew. It even tops The Mandalorian directors. The series premiere of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is scheduled to be released on December 3 on Disney+ and centers around children in the Star Wars universe.

“It’s a show that involves kids, and yes it will be very appealing to kids who get to see themselves in this,”Lowery informed Comicbook in a recent interview. “But when I was growing up, I aspired to be Luke Skywalker and Han Solo … I didn’t need a show about children to make me love Star Wars. But what I think this one is gonna do is remind adults like myself of what it was like to be a little kid watching Star Wars for the first time.”
