Paramount+’s Dexter: Resurrection has found studio to lease for the season two. According to Variety, Sunset Pier 94 Studios in Manhattan will be the first tenant which will be opening later this month.
For those who have not seen the show, the series follows the titular character Dexter Morgan a serial killer that worked for the police, who hunted and killed other serial killers. In Dexter Resurrection, Morgan is trying to focus on his new life that he has started in New York City and he is trying to reconnect with his estranged son, Harrison Morgan. While this is going on Morgan must also try to escape his past that is slowly catching up to him.
According to Variety, Drew Brown the EVP of production for Paramount TV had this to say: “We are thrilled to bring the second season of Dexter: Resurrection to Sunset Pier 94 Studios and its state-of-the-art facilities and sound stages. Last season saw Dexter move to New York City – and now we look forward to following suit, gaining greater access to the region’s incredible creative talent, leveraging a competitive tax credit program and reinforcing our commitment to U.S. production.”
Sunset Pier 94 studios features 232,000 square feet of leasable stages, The studio is located on the West Side Highway with a view of the Hudson River. According to Variety, Victor Coleman the chairman and CEO of Hudson Pacific had this to say about Paramount choosing their studio for the filming of the second season, “‘Sunset Studios’ success in attracting and retaining top-tier productions across multiple seasons speaks to the caliber of our studios and services, and we look forward to the opportunity to expand our relationship with Paramount on the lot,’ ‘Robust pre-leasing interest in Sunset Pier 94 Studios underscores the project’s unmatched quality and prime location—there is truly nothing else like it in the market, and we look forward to announcing additional leases soon.’”
The cast consists of Michael C. Hall (Talisker: Vol. 1, The Gettysburg Address), Jack Alcott (Killing Faith, Poker Face), Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine (Smoke, Washington Black), Kadia Saraf (The Better Sister, Law & Order: Organized Crime), Dominic Fumusa (Elsbeth, Sheepdog), James Remar (IT: Welcome to Derry, All’s Fair), Emilia Suárez (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Up Here), Darius Jordan Lee (Will Trent, FBI), Jason Alan Carvell (Outer Banks, The Runarounds), Bryan Lillis (Crossroads, NCIS: Los Angeles), David Magidoff (High Potential, The Cleaning Lady), McKaley Miller (Rockbottom, Roll with It), John Lithgow (Buzz, Jimpa), and Isabella LaBlanc (True Detective, Pet Sematary: Bloodlines).
There is no word so far regarding when the second season will drop so we will have to stay tuned for when the official teaser drops.
