

The upcoming fifth and final season of the popular Netflix series, Stranger Things, is months away, and a major announcement by the series co-creator, Ross Duffer (Hidden, Eater) teases that this will be the craziest one yet, and the stakes are even higher. According to Screenrant, this season will be a timeskip in which Vecna, played by Jamie Campbell Bower (Camelot, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones), and the other creatures from the Upside Down have invaded the city of Hawkins. It will be up to Eleven, played by Millie Bobby Brown (The Electric State, Damsel) and the rest of the gang, to fight Vecna and return Hawkins to normal.
Ross give his statement in an interview with Screenrant about the series direction”Chapters One and Two: locked, mixed, scored, colored, DONE. ‘The Crawl’ is our favorite, most eventful first episode since Season 1. ‘The Vanishing of…’ (yeah yeah you think you know who blah blah) has by far the craziest cold open we’ve ever done. One of the sequences we’re most proud of this season.” He adds more fuel to the fire with a post on his official instagram page which gives a behind the scenes of the first chapter which will be dubbed “The Crawl”.

According to Screenrant, details about the opening remain confidential, but many theories have emerged regarding its content. Some speculate that it could feature a flashback to the first breach into the Upside Down, while others believe the gang may find themselves battling for survival against the darkness.
While we await the final season of Stranger Things, which will be divided into three volumes—the first set to release on November 26, the second for Christmas, and the final part for New Year’s—all previous seasons are available for streaming on Netflix. Fans can look forward to the familiar mix of action and supernatural elements that the series is known for.
