A week after news of Demi Lovato’s casting on Glee first broke, Naya Rivera has revealed a major detail about the singer’s role.
“She’s playing my love interest, so I’m very, very excited about that,” Rivera told MTV at the Video Music Awards on Sunday.
As previously reported, Lovato will play Dani, a New York-based struggling artist friend of Rachel and Santana’s. She will make the first of at least six appearances in the second episode, where she will sing a Beatles song with Santana. (Reportedly, the duet is “Here Comes The Sun”.)
Rivera indicated her excitement about the show’s upcoming Beatles episodes, but also revealed that filming the Cory Monteith tribute has been “horrible”. “He was an amazing guy and I definitely miss him,” she told MTV.
Glee’s fifth season will premiere September 26 at 9 PM; Demi’s first appearance will take place the following week.
