Debi Mazar (Little Man Tate) has been tapped to star in Netflix’s upcoming Greek mythology series Kaos, according to Deadline. Mazar will be playing Medusa in the series, the outlet noted.
Mazar joins a cast that already includes the likes of Jeff Goldblum (Jurassic World: Dominion), Janet McTeer (The Woman In Black), David Thewlis (The Boy In The Striped Pajamas), Aurora Perrineau (Jem & The Holograms), Cliff Curtis (The Dark Horse), Killian Scott (Dublin Murders), Misia Butler (Kiss Me First), Leila Farzad (I Hate Suzie), Nabhaan Rizwan (The Last Letter From Your Mother), Rakie Ayola (The Pact), and Stanley Townsend (Rough Diamond). Goldblum will play Zeus, who was originally set to be played by Hugh Grant (Four Weddings And A Funeral) before Grant pulled out of the role due to scheduling conflicts, according to Deadline.
Deadline describes Kaos as “bold, darkly comic, contemporary take on Greek mythology, exploring love, life and power in the underworld.” The upcoming series, which was first introduced in 2018 and greenlit last year, is currently being filmed in Spain, Deadline reports.
Mazar is known for her role as Shauna Roberts in the hit HBO series Entourage, as well as other roles in films such as Goodfellas and Singles.
Kaos is being created by Charlie Covell (The End of the F***ing World), who will also serve as an executive producer alongside Jane Featherstone (Law & Order: UK), Chris Fry (Chernobyl), Georgi Banks-Davies (Paper Girls), Nina Lederman (Rock Me, Baby), Katie Carpenter (Landscapers), and Harry Munday (White Lines).
Banks-Davies will serve as lead director and Runyararo Mapfumo (Sex Education) will direct the second block, while Georgia Christou (On The Edge) writes episode six of the series, per Deadline. The upcoming series is commissioned by Anne Mensah (You, Me, And The Apocalypse) and Netflix’s Director of UK Series, Sophie Klein, for the streaming service.
