During the 2020 virtual DC FanDome, The CW and DC Comics released the first trailer for the seventh season of the superhero series The Flash, according to Screen Rant. Created by Greg Berlanti (Dawson’s Creek, You), Andrew Kreisberg (Arrow, Supergirl), and Geoff Johns (Stargirl, Aquaman), the series is based on the DC Comics superhero The Flash/Barry Allen and has ran for six seasons, amassing 133 total episodes during this run. The show premiered in 2014 and is set in The CW’s Arrowverse such as shows as Arrow, Batwoman, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, and many others. The series is executive produced by David Nutter (Game of Thrones), Aaron Helbing (Black Sails), Todd Helbing (Spartacus), Gabrielle Stanton (Ugly Betty), Berlanti, Kreisberg, and many more.
The Flash centers on Allen as his life as the superhuman speedster in the Flash after an accident at a lab grants him these powers. The series features Grant Gustin (Glee) as Allen/The Flash, Danielle Panabaker (Sky High, Empire Falls) as Caitlin Snow/Killer Frost, Candice Patton (The Game) as Iris West-Allen, Carlos Valdes (Supergirl, Vixen), Tom Cavanagh (Scrubs), and Jesse L. Martin (Law & Order). Additional cast members include Keiynan Lonsdale (Legends of Tomorrow), Hartley Sawyer (The Young and the Restless), Neil Sandilands (The 100), Danielle Nicolet (3rd Rock from the Sun), Chris Klein (American Pie), Efrat Dor (Sneaky Pete), LaMonica Garrett (The Last Ship), and many more.
Season six of The Flash was set for 22 episodes, but was only able to film and air 19 due to the on-going COVID-19 pandemic which halted production for the show and many others. Currently, the plan for filming season seven involves the cast and crew to self-quarantine for two weeks prior to returning to set.
