David Tennant Coy about Return to Season 3 of Netflix’s ‘Jessica Jones’

Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) has been a thrilling part of our lives since 2015 when it premiered on Netflix. It quickly became a hit TV show that ranked in viewers intrigued to see such a dark character in the Marvel universe. Superheroes are usually shown to go through hardships throughout their lives as they reflect on their past. Jones’ past continues to haunt her with her arch nemesis, Kilgrave (David Tennant). Kilgrave has become an essential part of not only the show put Jones’ life. Season two showed the many different ways he tried to control Jones’ mind and actions. Although she is a strong character, Kilgrave becomes her weakness. Jones goes through treacherous events as she tries to live somewhat of a normal life.

As season three was filmed during the summer, there is no official premiere date as of yet. While we impatiently wait for a new season to return, Tennant is coy about his own return to the show. As he tackles roles outside of the Marvel franchise, we cannot predict if he will choose to come back. When asked if he will reprise his role in season three, this is what Tennant said, “Flashbacks, sure. Well, who knows. There are no immediate plans. But if there were immediate plans, I’d be denying them. So you know, who knows?” The series has created a strong enough format to where it can lose a character like Kilgrave, and still survive. The new season has promise as it will explore more potential comic book storylines. Maybe we could see a Luke Cage/Jessica Jones romance in the works? There are possibilities.

For now, we can take Tennant’s words with a grain of salt until season three returns. However, if Kilgrave does indeed return, it will be interesting to see how this can further affect Jones’ life.
