David Ramsey, Keiynan Lonsdale, Sendhil Ramamurthy To Reprise Roles In ‘The Flash’ Final Season

David Ramsey (Arrow, Pay It Forward), Keiynan Lonsdale (Insurgent, Love, Simon), and Sendhil Ramamurthy (The Slammin’ Salmon, Covert Affairs) are set to reprise their roles in the ninth and final season of The Flash as John Diggle aka Spartan, Wally West aka Kid Flash, and Ramsey Rosso aka Bloodwork respectively, according to Deadline

Ramsey has appeared in 10 episodes from 2014 to 2022, and is set to appear in nine episodes in season nine. Executive producer Eric Wallace (Teen Wolf, Z Nation) spoke to Deadline regarding Ramsey’s character John Diggle aka Spartan. “As one of the legacy Arrowverse characters who helped start it all, John Diggle holds a special place in our hearts, as well as the fans. Plus, the commanding presence and commitment to excellence actor/director David Ramsey brings to the screen each-and every time is truly inspiring. So, of course, it was a no-brainer to have Diggle join Team Flash in our final season! So, get ready for a very emotional reunion as John Diggle aka Spartan helps protect Central City alongside Team Flash one last time.”

Lonsdale has appeared in 44 episodes from 2015 to 2020, and is set to appear in nine episodes in season nine. Wallace told Deadline regarding Lonsdale’s character Wally West aka Kid Flash: “We’re so happy to reunite with the incredibly talented Keiynan Lonsdale as a part of The Flash’s final season. Because Kid Flash isn’t just another speedster—he’s a beloved part of our Team Flash family. So as soon as we knew he was coming back, we set out to create a special and heartfelt story for his return. The result is a brilliant performance from Keiynan that showcases a side of Wally West you’ve never seen before.”

Ramamurthy has appeared in eight episodes from 2019 to 2020, and is set to appear in nine episodes in season nine. Wallace told Deadline regarding Ramamurthy’s character Ramsey Rosso aka Bloodwork : “Ever since Sendhil turned in such a brilliantly haunting and unforgettable performance as the tortured Ramsey Rosso in Season Six, we’ve been looking for a way to bring him back. We also knew we wanted to have Ramsey play a part in Flash’s final race. Fortunately, everything came together and now the villainous Bloodwork’s return will set into motion one of the Flash’s wildest and most emotional adventures yet.”

The CW’s The Flash follows the story of Barry Allen, played by Grant Gustin (Supergirl, Glee), as he wakes from a coma after being struck by lightning and discovers he has been given the power of super speed, becoming The Flash and fighting crime in Central City. In addition to Ramsey, Lonsdale, Ramamurthy, and Gustin, the series’ cast includes Candice Patton (The Guest, Grey’s Anatomy), Danielle Panabaker (Sky High, Friday the 13th), Jesse L. Martin (Rent, Law & Order), Carlos Valdes (The Letter Carrier, Arrow), Tom Cavanagh (Ed, Bang Bang You’re Dead), Danielle Nicolet (Central Intelligence, Born Again Virgin), Kayla Compton (In Training, Emily X), Hartley Sawyer (Caper, Glory Daze), Patrick Sabongui (Homeland, 300), Brandon McKnight (The Shape of Water, I’ll Take Your Dead).
