David Castañeda (Umbrella Academy) will be joining Natasha Lyonne (Russian Doll) and Rian Johnson (Knives Out) in the upcoming Peacock series titled Poker Face, according to Variety. Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber) and Stephanie Hsu (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) will also make appearances alongside Castañeda.
Castañeda currently stars in Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy as Diego. The upcoming third season of the series will premiere June 22. He has also appeared in NBC’s Blindspot and TNT’s Southland. He will star opposite Christoph Waltz (Spectre) in the sophomore season of Roku’s Most Dangerous Game.
The actor’s role in Poker Face, along with its plot, have largely been kept under wraps. However, sources have said that the series will center around a procedural format, with Lyonne’s character solving a new murder every episode. Peacock’s Poker Face released a 10-episode order in March 2021, with Johnson serving as creator and executive producer. Lyonne, Maya Rudolph (Bridesmaids), Danielle Renfrew Behrens (American Son) and Lilla Zuckerman (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) will also serve as executive producers.
An official release date or news of further additions to the cast for the upcoming series have not yet been announced.
