The third season of Dave is slowly approaching FX, and the official trailer has been released. According to ComicBook, Dave “Lil Dicky” Burd (The Lego Batman Movie, Lil Dicky: Earth) is taking his rap career on a cross-country tour.
This new trailer is full of surprises, one of them being that Dave’s ex-girlfriend Ally, portrayed by Taylor Misiak (Ten Year Old Tom, We Are CVNT5), returns in a prominent role as a member of the tour. During the third season of this show, Dave and Ally appear to have reached a much healthier place as friends, with Ally openly asking about his “Looking for Love Tour.”
Another surprise revealed in the trailer is Marvel’s own Chloe Bennet (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Valley Girl) acting goofy with the comedian/rapper. Bennet will be recurring in her role as Robyn, a photographer from Wisconsin who shoots Dave and his company on tour and apparently sparks a bond with the rapper.
The show follows Dave, who is in his late 20s and eager to prove he is the greatest rapper in the world. As Dave embarks on his first-ever headlining tour across the United States in the upcoming season, he gets a chance to experience the different cultures and landscapes of the country. Amidst a nerve-wracking career milestone, Dave embarks on another journey of his own to find love.
According to Collider, the new season will scour real-life ventures as Dave’s relationships take a toll during hellacious situations. Aside from experiencing new luxuries and meeting some of the world’s best musicians, Dave also faces new obstacles associated with fame as he reaches stardom. Throughout the story, fans will witness a protagonist who rides an emotional rollercoaster as he battles stress, fame, and money.
According to ComicBook, the third season will be packed with lots of celebrity cameos that include Rick Ross (Suicide Squad, Django Unchained), Don Cheadle (Crash, The Guard), Machine Gun Kelly (The Dirt, Captive State), Usher (In the Mix, Killers), Demi Lovato (Camp Rock, Sonny with a Chance), Megan Fox (Jennifer’s Body, Transformers), Killer Mike (Deadpool 2, Venom), Travis Barker (American Pie, Ride Along), and many more.
“That’s just a fraction [of the guest stars] and the fraction I haven’t named, will blow you away,” the rapper/comedian teased at the TCA presentation.
The third season of Dave debuts on April 5, 2023, on FX.
