Two months after Daredevil: Born Again’s season one premiere, it was confirmed that Krysten Ritter’s (Breaking Bad, Orphan Black: Echoes) Jessica Jones would officially return for the second season. With production currently underway, fans are catching first glimpses of Ritter on set with Charlie Cox’s (Treason, Stardust) Matt Murdock. According to Comicbook, on-set photos capture the two actors transforming into their Marvel characters.

The images, captured by @_DaredevilShots via X, see Cox and Ritter arrive on set. Eventually, donning their signature attire. Ritter dresses down in Jones’ jeans, a dark tee, and a leather jacket. And Cox exhibits Matt’s legal dress, although a drop of blood may imply his alter ego may have had to make a cameo.

Season two of the Daredevil revival will see the two street heroes properly reunite within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. They last crossed paths in Netflix’s miniseries The Defenders, which saw crossovers between the four grounded Marvel series: Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist. Both Daredevil and Jessica Jones premiered in 2015, marking their 10th anniversary.

The last time we saw Matt Murdock, he was assembling a team to resist the growing fascism pushed by New York City’s new mayor, Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin. Asserting power with his Anit-Viligante Task Force, Fisk’s agenda of law and order transformed the mayor’s office into his arm of tyrannical authoritarianism, where loyalty is supreme and dissenters are caged or killed.

While season two isn’t set to arrive until next year, there is already speculation on what we can expect to see from the superpowered P.I. Apart from her sarcastic disposition and affinity for fighting for the underdog, Jessica Jones’ super strength could be a major assist in Daredevil’s attempts to bring Fisk to heel. Comicbook even suggests we may see her powers enhanced in this version, as the Netflix series toned down her abilities for scale.

In addition to her durability and healing factor, Jones is known to have the ability to fly. These attributes would be a godsend in battling an enemy with such an arsenal as the mayor of one of the country’s largest cities. She’s also an expert sleuth which will come in handy for Fisk’s under-the-table schemes.

All five combined seasons of Netflix’s Daredevil and Jessica Jones are available to stream on Disney+, along with Daredevil: Born Again.
