Danya Jimenez And Hannah McMechan Writers Of ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ Set To Develop Drama ‘A Really Bad Person’ At FX

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Danya Jimenez (Ren & Stimpy, The Virgin Maggi) and Hannah McMechan (Ladyhood, You’ve Got Male), writers of Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters, land dramatic series , A Really Bad Person,  at FX. This will be the first project that the two will be creating together.

As per The Hollywood Reporter, FX Productions and Legendary Television are behind the new drama series. The logline for the series is described as “a drama about a very relatable American girl who does the most unrelatable thing while visiting London she pretends to be the missing daughter of a British family. It’s a last-ditch effort to gain citizenship, a fresh start, and escape her complicated past.”

The Hollywood Reporter reports Jimenez and McMechan will also executive produce the pilot along with Sharon Hall (Below, Utopia), David Finkel (30 Rock, New Girl) and Brett Baer (Bad Sisters, United States of Tara). Jimenez and McMechan wrote KPop Demon Hunters along with co-directors Maggie Kang (Puss in Boots, Ne Zha 2) and Chris Appelhans (Wonder Park, Coraline). After the vast success of KPop Demon Hunters, which included two Oscars and a viewing record for Netflix, the duo penned the horror-comedy Youth Juice and signed on to write the screenplay for Tim Burton’s (Beetlejuice, Corpse Bride) Attack of the 50-Foot Woman remake.

According to The Hollywood ReporterA Really Bad Person is joining other FX projects in development that include Hopeless, a comedy from Jeff Chan (XO, Kitty, Kung Fu) and Rob Mac (Latter Days, Side Quest) which is a drama about National Park rescue volunteers based on a New Yorker story. FX also set a series order for The Marriage Plot, based on the Jeffrey Eugenides (Middlesex, Fresh Complaint) novel, which will star Sadie Sink (Stranger Things, Spider-Man: Brand New Day). Seven Sisters , a drama series starring Elizabeth Olsen (WandaVision, Love & Death) and Far Cry series based on the video game and created by FX veterans Noah Hawley (Alien: Earth, Fargo) and Mac are also in the works.
