Daniel Radcliffe Says New Star Of HBO’ ‘Harry Potter’ Will Upstage Him

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins) believes that the new actor taking on the role of Harry Potter in HBO’s new series will most likely upstage him. In YouTube segment, ScreenRant asked Radcliffe about HBO’s new series, which will adapt J.K. Rowling’s (The Hallmarked Man, The Running Grave) novels across eight seasons.

As per The Hollywood Reporter, Radcliffe suspects that Dominic McLaughinlin (The Red Admiral, Grow)) who is now taking on the mantle of Harry Potter, will be better in the iconic lead role than he was.

I’m sure Dominic is going to be better than me,” Radcliffe said via The Hollywood Reporter. “I learned as I went. I look back on what I did now with a lot more kindness, and I find it less embarrassing now that I’m older. But I was very much learning how to do it for a long time on Potter.”

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Radcliffe requested he original Harry Potter stars about the new actors playing their former roles, and vice versa.

“When these kids got cast, there’s a whole thing around the internet, around the world, people being like, ‘We’ve got to look after these kids,’” he said via The Hollywood Reporter . “I was like, ‘If you mean that, if everyone really means what they are saying, then one of the things you can do for me is not ask about me and Rupert [Grint about it] all the time.’ I would like not to be weird spectral phantoms in these children’s lives, and just to let them, like, get on it. Because it’s going to be a new thing.”

As per The Hollywood ReporterHarry Potter follows an orphaned boy who discovers on his eleventh birthday that he is a wizard. Harry attends Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, he forms a close friendship with Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger while learning that he is famous for surviving an attack by the dark wizard Lord Voldemort

Harry Potter is expected to premiere on HBO Max in 2027.
