‘Daily Show” Alums John Oliver, Trevor Noah and Jordan Klepper React to Jon Stewart’s Return; “Jordan’s Back!”

Everyone is excited about the new host of The Daily Show. Upon the return of hosting alum Jon Stewart, many other television personalities and past members of The Daily Show cast have expressed their excitement and feelings toward the switch. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Stewart’s surprise return is nothing short of a massive win.

John Oliver, a past correspondent for The Daily Show and current host of Last Week Tonight equated Stewart’s return to when Michael Jordan returned to the Chicago Bulls after he had retired in 1995. In an interview with Willie Geist, Oliver exclaimed “Jordan’s back!” as the news broke mid-interview. With this breaking news, Oliver then went on talking about his excitement towards the news.

“I mean, that’s, that is a surprise,” Oliver said during the interview after the news broke “That’s a show that needs a host. He certainly is a very, very good one. So yeah, it’ll be exciting to see what he does”.

Although Stewart is returning, his spot is not permanent. Stewart will be hosting from this upcoming February until the 2024 election. So viewers will get a little under a year of sarcastic and dry humor from Mr. Stewart. Oliver then added in his interview that when Stewart leaves, the show really “should appoint a permanent host” as they have been in search of one since Trevor Noah left in 2022.

Noah took to Twitter to share his excitement about Stewart returning to the Daily Show desk. In his tweet, he shared a smaller post on social media in response with the caption “Yessssssss he’s back.”

Along with Noah, Daily Show alum and former correspondent Jordan Klepper threw his tweet up on Twitter, saying “This dude’s been juicing,” followed by a quick comment on Instagram under a photo of Stewart back at the Daily Show desk that read “Welcome home JS.”

Jon Stewart will begin hosting The Daily Show on Monday, February 12 on Comedy Central at 11 pm EST.
