Currently airing comic book adaptations The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, and Arrow, the CW is developing another DC Comics drama titled Project 13 according to Variety.
Based on DC Comics characters Traci Thirteen and her father Doctor Thirteen, Variety reported that the hour long drama “would center on Traci, a twenty-something forensic scientist and believer in the paranormal who discovers her own hidden extra-sensory abilities when she joins her estranged, skeptic father to investigate mysterious cases of the paranormal and unexplained phenomena.”
Actress Elizabeth Banks will serve as executive producer alongside her Brownstone productions partner Max Handelman and Daegan Fryklind who will also serve as the writer of the series. Banks and Handelman have worked together on several other projects including drama series Spirited on ABC and comedy series Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp on Fox. Fryklind also served as the writer and producer of Motive and Being Erica and created Syfy’s Bitten.
Traci Thirteen first appeared in Superman #189 in 2003 while her father Dr. Terrance Thirteen first appeared in the 1950s in Star Spangled Comics #122. According to ComingSoon, Traci’s powers include magical blast, magical sight, protection, divination, fate sense, and a psychic link. Both Traci and Dr. Thirteen have appeared in several other comics including Batman and Flashpoint.
There are no other specific details on this new upcoming project, but this new series is seen as a chance for the fans to see more of Traci Thirteen.
With another comic book adaptation added in the mix, the CW has made its mark in the comic book adaptation industry. Along with the making of Project 13, the CW will also debut Black Lightning in 2018.
