Crunchyroll’s Anime Series ‘Black Butler’ Releases Season Five’s First Teaser Trailer

Black Butler‘s fifth season is coming up soon. Recently, Crunchyroll released the fourth season, with the storyline named Public School arc. Furthermore, season five has been confirmed with an exclusive teaser trailer release, embedded below, Comicbook.com reports. It will be titled Black Butler: Emerald Witch arc. 

According to Comicbook.com, the news was announced yesterday at Anime Expo. Crunchyroll released the news after they announced season four exactly year ago yesterday. The fourth season was released in April 2024 and received fantastic reviews from fans and critics alike. Now, fans expect the fifth season to be as impeccable as the last one.

Those unfamiliar with the anime series Black Butler can get a head start by reading the manga, according to Comicbook.com. Japanese artist Yana Toboso (Black Butler: Book of Murder, Black Butler Vol. 30) first wrote the manga in September 2006. Afterwards, it moved to Monthly GFantasy, and in October 2008, the TV company A-1 Pictures was the one who created the first season of the anime, released in 2010. Since then, the anime has had various stage and live-action adaptations for fans in Japan and the other two seasons. So, everyone’s eyes were set on Black Butler when the anime came out with a fourth season.

“Just a stone’s throw from London lies the manor house of the illustrious Phantomhive earldom, its master one Ciel Phantomhive. Fortunately, his loyal butler, Sebastian, is ever at his side, ready to carry out the young master’s wishes. And whether Sebastian is called to save a dinner party gone awry or probe the dark secrets of London’s underbelly, there is practically nothing Sebastian cannot do. In fact, one might even say Sebastian is too good to be true… or at least, he is too good to be human…”
