Critical Role, the weekly web series streamed on Twitch, revealed during last week’s episode that Robbie Daymond (Disney XD’s Spider-Man), who plays Dorian Storm, would be departing the main show but will return in a two-part episode of Exandria Unlimited, which is a TV show that takes place in the Critical Role universe, according to ComicBook.com. No details about the two-part special were revealed other than Daymond’s involvement and that it will be released soon.
Daymond made a small statement about his departure from Critical Role as well as his impending move to Exandria Unlimited on Twitter.
What fun. A dream really. Love you all. Now…

It is currently unclear as to what the motivation was for Daymond’s departure. While he wasn’t a permanent cast member, Daymond had the most guest appearances of anyone who’s appeared on the web show, leading to much speculation he would join the permanent cast, according to ComicBook.com. Of course, that will now not be the case.
During last week’s episode, Storm chooses to leave town with his brother, Cyrus Wyvernwind, played by Matthew Mercer (Overwatch), after Wyvernwind is falsely accused of destroying the moon tower, per ComicBook.com. Storm had the opportunity to stay with his friends, but chooses not to after he realizes he would be confused for his lookalike brother and then arrested.
A few of Critical Role‘s main stars also appear in Exandria Unlimited, including Ashley Johnson (The Avengers) and Liam O’Brien (Curse of the Golden Flower) along with Mercer and Daymond. While Johnson and O’Brien have played multiple roles on Critical Role over the years, Johnson plays Fearne Calloway and O’Brien plays Orym currently on both shows. Exandria Unlimited also stars Aimee Carrero (The Last Witch Hunter), who plays Opal and has appeared once on Critical Role in 2019 as herself.
