Critical Role will be returning for a special episode that will be released exclusively in theaters, according to a press release by the series. The web series featuring professional voice actors playing Dungeons & Dragons will celebrate its seventh-year anniversary by releasing an episode in leading movie theaters, in addition to the livestream on Twitch and YouTube.
Campaign three, episode 17 will show in popular movie theater chains such as Cinemark, Landmark Theaters, and Cinépolis. The episode will simulcast live in 55 select theaters nationwide, as well as three international theaters in Brazil in collaboration with Cinemark.
Screenings will take place in select cities in Alabama, Arizona, California, Georgia, Massachusetts, and New York among others. Tickets will start at $25, and select theaters will offer a $40 package that includes a t-shirt and set combo. Fans can pre-order tickets now on Critical Role‘s website.
“Following the massive response from our third campaign’s theatrical premiere, we knew we wanted to bring our show back to the big screen where people can gather safely and enjoy the experience collectively,” Critical Role CEO Travis White said in the press release. “We’re working with some incredible theatrical partners to help celebrate our seven-year anniversary, which is still mind-boggling to say!”
“Cinemark is thrilled to once again welcome Critters to our immersive auditoriums and help Critical Role celebrate their seven-year anniversary in a larger-than-life way,” said Cinemark SVP of Global Content Strategy Justin McDaniel added in the press release. “Fans showed up in droves for our premiere event with Campaign 3, and we look forward to bringing the shared experience to more of our theatres across the U.S. and to host the inaugural big-screen viewing in Brazil.”
