See a first look at the new season below, from Paramount+ on YouTube.

mxdwn previously reported on the series being renewed for its 19th in 2025, which had come (at the time) ahead of the premiere of the 18th season. Cast and production crew had been notified early in post-production that they were greenlit for what would become season 19.

As stated by Deadline, season 19 will feature several guest stars alongside returning stars Paget Brewster (Community, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit), A.J. Cook (Final Destination 2, Higher Ground), Zach Gilford (Midnight Mass, The Fall of the House of Usher), RJ Hatanaka (When Hope Calls, Nancy Drew), Joe Mantegna (The Simpsons, The Rat Pack), Adam Rodriguez (CSI: Miami, Magic Mike), Aisha Tyler (Friends, Ghost Whisperer) and Kirsten Vangsness (Shelf Life, Wizards Beyond Waverly Place).

Confirmed guest stars, via Deadline, include Yvette Nicole Brown (Community, Repo Men), Richard Cabral (American Crime, Lethal Weapon), Inny Clemons (Vital Signs, Sneakerheads), Joseph Cross (Wide Awake, As the World Turns), Nicholas Gonzalez (Anacondas, The Good Doctor), Clark Gregg (Trust Me, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D), Justin Kirk (Weeds, Angels in America), Dash Mihok (Ray Donovan, A Million Little Pieces), Cara Jade Myers (Killers of the Flower Moon, Icefall), Nicole Pacent (Westworld, Call Me Kat), Jeri Ryan (Star Trek: Picard, Body of Proof), Kofi Siriboe (Queen Sugar, Prom), Lyndon Smith (National Treasure: Edge of History, Public Morals), Connor Storrie (Heated Rivalry, Riley), Paul F. Tompkins (BoJack Horseman, Rutherford Falls), Cress Williams (Black Lightning, Nash Bridges), and Rob Yang (Succession, The Resident).

Criminal Minds: Evolution, a revival continuing the original series Criminal Minds, is a procedural crime drama that follows the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) and its team of profilers on their mission to analyze, capture, and get ahead of the country’s most dangerous criminals.

Via Deadline, the series’ season 18 centered on serial killers and explored the unpredictable character of Elias Voit (Gilford) as his criminal history comes to the forefront of the BAU’s case radar, forcing them to work together against the bigger threat of his deranged and devoted followers across the country.

From the first look at the season 19 premiere, the BAU will be taking on reports of three missing persons on a remote trail with one already found deceased. Chillingly, this body was found to resemble a previous victim in the same area – except, the previous victim had been from 30 years ago in 1993. While the question of whether or not the cases are related is still up in the air, it spurs the team into action against the ticking clock to find the truth of the matter and the two people still missing.

Per Deadline, Criminal Minds: Evolution is produced by CBS Studios and 20th Television. Credited as executive producers are Chris Barbour (In From the Cold, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation), Breen Frazier (Roswell, Alias), Glenn Kershaw (Third Watch, Army Wives), and Mark Gordon (The Rookie, Designated Survivor), with Erica Messer (Charmed, Alias) as both EP and showrunner.

As stated prior, Criminal Minds: Evolution will premiere on May 28, 2026. All episodes of Criminal Minds: Evolution are currently available for streaming on Paramount+.
