HBO Max is in the beginning stages in the development of its new series, Rip Crew, according to Deadline. The drama succeeds from the minds of Michael Seitzman (Code Black, Intelligence, Here On Earth), Mike Weiss (74 and Sunny), and ABC Signature Studios.
Rip Crew follows an ex-FBI agent, now a criminology professor when he discovers that his top students are organizing a heist and later joining them and becoming the offender he once spent his life chasing. Weiss and Seitzman will executive produce alongside Ross Dinerstein (Camperfire, 1922) and co-executive produced by Eva Gunz (American Dream/American Knightmare) and Edward McGurn (The 33, Suge Knight). As the series is still in its developing stages, no cast has been announced yet.
Weiss executive produced on the third season of Seitzman’s Code Black and was a consulting producer on ABC’s Stumptown after being a co-executive producer on Chicago P.D. and a producer on The Mentalist, via Deadline. Even further, Seitzman was an executive producer on ABC’s Quantico and created Intelligence, a drama series which aired on CBS.
Their newest project, Rip Crew, comes from a deal Seitzman made at ABC Studios and is still in development to be released on HBO Max.
