Creator Of ‘Kaos’ Charlie Covell Reacts To Series Cancellation

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the creator of Netflix’s Kaos reacted to the series being canceled after only one season. Charlie Covell (The End of the F***ing World) talks about how they felt about their canceled Greek mythology comedy. Covell took to the Instagram of the production company behind the series, Sister, to share a message with fans.

Covell said via The Hollywood Reporter, “Of course I’m gutted not to be making more Kaos, but I don’t want this news to overshadow what we did make. I’m incredibly lucky to have worked with such an exceptionally talented cast and crew, and I’m extremely proud of our show. Thank you to absolutely everybody involved: it was a Herculean team effort, and a huge privilege to work with you all.”

Kaos is an eight-part series that follows a daring scheme to dethrone an insecure, tyrannical Zeus. The series is a modern-day contemporary retelling of Greek and Roman mythology.

The series cast includes Jeff Goldblum (The Grand Budapest Hotel) as Zeus, Janet McTeer (Me Before You) as Hera, Stephen Dillane (Game of Thrones) as Prometheus, Aurora Perrineau (It Takes Three) as Riddy, Nabhaan Rizwan (Station Eleven) as Dionysus, Killian Scott (Trespass Against Us) as Orpheus, Misia Butler (The School for Good and Evil) as Caeneus, Susan Wooldridge (The Jewel in the Crown) as Pious Agatha, David Thewlis (The Artful Dodger) as Hades, Cliff Curtis (Ka Whawhai Tonuas Poseidon and many others.

As per The Hollywood Reporter, Covell also praised the show’s fans in the message by pointing out their continued “love and enthusiasm.”

They wrote, “I’ve been shown subreddits that have made my heart positively sing: the tiny details and Easter eggs you noticed made my day many times over. I’ve been chuffed to the point of overwhelm by your positive responses to the show — thank you!”

Covell also noted that one theory they saw on Reddit “about who or what Kaos is” was “bang on the money.”

They concluded by saying, “My hope now is that people still continue to discover and enjoy the show: I reckon there are some potential fans out there who might need more time to find it, so please keep talking about Kaos if you enjoyed it. Thank you so much for watching!”
