According to ComicBook, Genndy Tartakovsky (Dexter’s Laboratory, Samurai Jack), the creator of Adult Swim’s Primal, gives a hopeful new update on the third season of the series. The series became one of the network’s most unique projects, and fans have been waiting patiently for another season. Tartakovsky has shared that he and the rest of the creative team for the series have been working on the third season, which is soon to wrap up production after announcing last summer that it was in the works.
When asked about the status of the new season for Primal during an interview with Collider, Tartakovsky stated,”It’s coming. I’m finishing up the tenth episode right now, and so we got 10 more half-hours. We’re in production, and it’s gonna blow everybody’s socks off, I think. We’re halfway done with the animation already. I’m just finishing up the last episode, and already half of it is already done because it’s all overlapped. Half of it is already animated. We’re doing post on the first two episodes already, so we’re over the hard part. We’re in the heat of production.”
As per ComicBook, Tartakovsky teased what is to come of the third season. He said, “I have something in mind that is so spectacular I cannot wait to do it, and we’re trying to figure out how to do it. It’s a brand new world, but I’m so into it. I think everybody’s going to love it. It’s a very natural progression without giving anything away, but I’ve got more things for the Primal world and I cannot wait to do more.”
Primal follows a caveman who bonds with a dinosaur over shared tragedy as they work together to survive in a dangerous prehistoric world. The series showcases amazing animated visuals with immense amounts of action in each episode.
The series is available to stream on Max, and season three is projected to premiere in 2025.
