The Creative Artists Agency (CAA), responsible for managing numerous clients in the entertainment industry, has promoted Praveen Pandian (Z, The Ring of Rimachi) to head of their TV literary department, according to Variety. He has worked with CAA since 2015 as an agent in the TV department.
Pandian currently represents several well-known directors, including Lucy Tcherniak (End Of The F***ing World, Wanderlust), Alexander Payne (Nebrasks, Sideways), Jonathan Entwistle (End Of The F***cking World, Human Beings), Yorgos Lanthimos (The Lobster, The Favourite), The Duffer Brothers (Stranger Things), Cory Finley (Bad Education), and Zach Snyder (Justice League, Man of Steel, Watchmen).
Pandian’s career was launched with his work at the Walt Disney Company in 2011 after graduating from Pennsylvania State University with a marketing and advertising/public relations degree. In 2012, he joined CAA and was finally promoted to agent in 2015 where his clients consisted of non-writing producers such as Joe and Anthony Russo (Avengers: Infinity War, Captain America: Civil War), Jason Bateman (Aggregate), Simon Kinberg (Genre), Robert Kirkman (Skybound), Marc Webb (Black Lamb), Rian Johnson (Star Wars: The Last Jedi), Darren Aronofsky (Requiem For A Dream, The Wrestler), and James Wan (Atomic Monster).
When the news of Pandian’s promotion was initially announced, CAA Board Member and Head of Scripted Television Joe Cohen said in a statement that “Praveen is an exceptional agent with a tremendous work ethic and great taste. He is a shining example of what we stand for at CAA, and I am thrilled to have him serve in this important leadership role,” via Variety.
