According to The Hollywood Reporter, Heated Rivalry star Connor Storrie (Riley, Headless Horseman) is set to make his Saturday Night Live hosting debut. He was announced during the January 31 episode.
The Hollywood Reporter publicizes that Storrie will host Saturday Night Live on February 28 with musical guest Mumford & Sons (“Little Lion Man,” “I Will Wait”). Storrie has made the publicity rounds ever since he starred in the Crave original series as queer hockey player Ilys Rozanov that falls in love with co-star Hudson Williams’ (Jump, Over The Edge) closeted Shane Hollander.
“I am literally the luckiest person in the world,” Storrie wrote on his Instagram story once the news broke, via The Hollywood Reporter.
The Hollywood Reporter reminds us that Storrie and Williams were earlier announced as torchbearers for the 2026 Winter Olympic games in Milan. Not to mention Storrie also got signed with Creative Artist Agency (CAA) earlier this month. He also made appearances at Paris Fashion Week, was guest on NBC’s Today and Late Night with Seth Meyers, and he and Williams presented an award at last month’s Golden Globes.
Recently, Crave renewed Heated Rivalry for a second season, which HBO Max has agreed to air, via The Hollywood Reporter. As the show continues, so will the book series it is based on. Author Rachel Reid is working on the seventh book, Unrivaled, in the Game Changers series. Unrivaled will focus on Ilya and Shane.
Heated Rivalry has already become a staple in pop culture. mxdwn previously reported how SNL parodied the secret romance in a sketch centered on HBO’s upcoming Harry Potter series. This time around, the game of quidditch finds Harry and Ron Wesley in a secret relationship at Hogwarts. The spoof featured Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard (IT) and SNL cast mate Ben Marshall (72 Hours, Santa Claus). It also starred Jason Momoa (Baywatch, Aquaman) as Hagrid.
