Connie Britton Helps Spread the Message Against Texas Passing an Anti-Abortion Bill

Many celebrities have lent a hand to support Wendy Davis’ new-making thirteen-hour filibuster to stop Texas from passing a restrictive anti-abortion bill, explains the Hollywood Reporter.

Among the supporters were Dixie Chick’s lead singer Natalie Maines, House’s Lisa Edelstein and Law & Order: SVU’s Stephanie March. In addition, Friday Night Lights star Connie Britton has partnered with Planned Parenthood to create a t-shirt spreading the message.

The shirt, which Huffington Post explains, will only be available for the month of July and is designed to allow others to show their support for Texas women. The front reads “WWTTD” posing the question “What would Tami Taylor do?” to go alongside Britton’s Friday Night Lights character. The back of the t-shirt has the web address standwithtexaswomen.org.

“The character Tami on Friday Night Lights is a Texas woman deeply committed to her community and to standing up for what is right for her neighbors and the people she loves,” Britton said in a statement. “I have been inspired by how people around the country have united to stand with the women of Texas, and I can’t help but think that, in this moment, we all have the opportunity to join with and become strong, powerful Texas men and women.”

Britton currently stars in ABC’s show Nashville.
