Chris Hardwick’s @midnight has been renewed for 40 more weeks, Comedy Central announced Friday.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show ended its trial run on Thursday and will return in January.
“I don’t have adequate words to express how excited I am that we are going to be a fixture of late night in 2014. Huge thanks to the amazing teams at Funny Or Die, Serious Business, and Tom Lennon and Ben Garant,” Hardwick said of the renewal. “They’ve made this process one of the most rewarding and fun experiences of my life. Finally, to the fantastic folks at Comedy Central, I say, POINTS!!!”
@midnight had a successful four-week run, partly due to the lead-in from The Daily Show and The Colbert Report. During its first three weeks, the show was highly watched among men 18-34 when compared to all late-night shows, luring 453,00 viewers.
Hardwick can currently be seen hosting The Talking Dead, a 30 minute talk show about The Walking Dead.
