Get ready, Broad City fans. Ilana and Abbi are back for another season of struggling to make it as adults as they get themselves into crude, crazy, and uncomfortable situations.
Comedy Central’s Broad City follows the lives of two jewish best friends in their twenties as they attempt to survive in New York City. The series stars Abbi Johnson and Ilana Glazer as two women that could not be any more different. While both enjoy smoking marijuana, Abbi’s main mission in life is to become a professional artist while she works as a cleaner and eventually as a trainer at trendy workout spots to make ends meet. Ilana, on the other hand, does everything she possibly can to avoid working at all costs. The two friends deal with real life issues such as paying rent and finding jobs that they’re passionate about. The series has been praised for its realistic plot lines.
TVLine reported early this morning that Comedy Central released the first trailer for the upcoming fourth season. The trailer proves that while Abbi and Ilana have aged since Season 1, they haven’t necessarily matured. Season 4 appears to feature many well known guest stars, such as RuPaul from VH1’s RuPaul’s Drag Race, who is seen to be given sass by Ilana in the trailer. The 90-second trailer also shows Abbi hiding from country singer Shania Twain. Boardwalk Empire‘s Steve Buscemi, The New Adventures of Old Christine‘s Wanda Sykes, and Saturday Night Live alumna Jane Curtin also make appearances in the preview of the upcoming season.
The trailer also features the extremely liberal Ilana cursing out President Donald Trump, lots of costumes, Abbi having a moment as she smells candles, and an orange wig worn by Ilana at a party. Check out the full trailer below.
The series was created by its two stars, Jacobson and Glazer, and was developed based on their web series with the same name that was produced from 2009 to 2011. Broad City premiered in early 2014. While Jacobson and Glazer are the only actors to appear in every episode, the show also features Hannibal Buress, Paul W. Downs, John Gemberling, and Arturo Castro as recurring guest stars. Amy Poehler serves as an executive producer.
Broad City will return for its upcoming fourth season after a 16-month hiatus on August 23 at 10:30/9:30c. The episode will be followed by the Season 21 premiere of South Park. Similar to the first three seasons, Season 4 will feature 10 episodes.
