Comedy Actor Jay Leggett Dies at 50

Jay Leggett, comedy actor, director and writer, dies at 50.

Jay Leggett, who appeared in Fox’s Living in Color and worked both behind and in front of the camera, died of natural causes on Saturday as reported by Variety. Leggett died after a day of deer hunting and the emergency crews were called to a cabin near Tomahawk.

“He was doing what he loved,” said Mary Schlag, the manager of Tomahawk Cinema where the the premiere of Leggett took place. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Schlag added that, “If there’s any comfort in his passing, that’s it. He was doing something he loved.”

Jay Leggett co-wrote produced and appeared in Employee of the Month starring Matt Dillon. He also co-wrote the comedy Without a Paddle starring Seth Green, Dax Shepard and Matthew Lillard.

Recently, he produced and directed the movie called Live Nude Girls, starring Dave Foley. Leggett graduated from the University of Wisconsin and he performed in Chicago with the comedy troupe, Improv Olympic.
