Colman Domingo To Star In Netflix’s New Series ‘The Four Seasons’

Colman Domingo (Rustin, Fear the Walking Dead) is set to join the cast of Netflix’s upcoming series, The Four Seasons, joining comedy powerhouses Tina Fey (30 Rock, Saturday Night Live) and Steve Carell (Crazy, Stupid, Love, The Office), reports Deadline. Who Domingo will play within the cast has yet to be revealed, but his role will be recurring within the series.

The new series is based on the 1981 film The Four Seasons, a romantic comedy about three couples who band together each vacation season until one couple disbands. This creates comedy tension among the original group as the newly single man starts interjecting his younger new girlfriend into the clique.

The new adaptation by Fey will include Alan Alda (Marriage Story, M*A*S*H), director/writer of the original film, as a producer for the project. Marissa Bregman (American Dream), daughter of Martin Bregman (Sea of Love, The Shadow) who originally produced the film, will also join as a producer via mxdwn

Deadline revealed that The Four Seasons is set to enter production in late 2024. Companies involved in bringing the series to life are Little Stranger, Inc., founded by Fey, and Universal Television, a branch of the Universal Studio Group.

According to a previous mxdwn article, the revival series was highly sought after. The article commented that “the show was considered ‘hot property’ after the end of the writers’ and actors’ strikes last fall,” with Netflix winning the bidding war.

Domingo’s involvement in the project follows a hot streak of previous projects. Deadline highlighted Domingo’s recent roles in Netflix’s Rustin, garnering him an Oscar nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role, in the 2023 adaptation of The Color Purple, continuing to star in AMC’s Fear the Walking Dead, and soon-to-premiere movie Sing Sing by A24.

According to Deadline, Domingo is also set to star in Lionsgate’s Michael Jackson (The Wiz, Moonwalker) biopic Michael in 2025 and Netflix’s short series The Madness.
