Colman Domingo Says ‘Euphoria’ Season Three Will Be “More Cinema Than Television”

According to Deadline, as anticipation builds for the long-awaited third season of Euphoria, Colman Domingo (Rustin, Fear the Walking Dead) is offering an ambitious preview of what’s ahead describing the new episodes as cinematic, epic and unlike anything the series has done before.

As stated by Deadline, Domingo spoke on the Golden Globes red carpet teasing that Season Three of the HBO/A24 drama, set to premiere in April 2026, will push past the boundaries of traditional television storytelling. “We’re gonna have a devastatingly gorgeous, epic season that I think is breaking the mold of television,” Domingo said. “I think it’s gonna become more cinema than television.”

As reported by Deadline, Domingo, who plays Ali Muhammed Rue’s sponsor and emotional anchor revealed that the new season will explore the character’s past in greater depth. “You get to look at the building blocks of Ali,” he explained. “You may get a little bit of his origin story… so you can understand why Ali is who he is.”

Per Deadline, Season Three reunites series leads Zendaya (Dune: Part Two, Challengers), Sydney Sweeney (Anyone But You, Reality), Jacob Elordi (Saltburn, Priscilla), Maude Apatow (Assassination Nation, Hollywood), Alexa Demie (Mid90s, Waves) and Hunter Schafer (The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, Kinds of Kindness).

As Deadline reported, joining them as series regulars are Martha Kelly (Baskets, Hacks), Chloe Cherry (Pleasure, Sick), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Lost, Suicide Squad) and Toby Wallace (Babyteeth, The Society).

According to Deadline, the ensemble expands further with Rosalía (Pain and Glory, Motomami), Sharon Stone (Basic Instinct, Casino), Marshawn Lynch (Bottoms, Westworld), and Kadeem Hardison (A Different World, Black Monday). Returning cast members also include Dominic Fike (Don’t Forget About Me, Demos, The Summer I Turned Pretty), Alanna Ubach (Coco, Legally Blonde), Daeg Faerch (Halloween, Hancock), Melvin “Bonez” Estes (Mayans M.C., Training Day), Paula Marshall (Nip/Tuck, Gary Unmarried), Sophia Rose Wilson (Power Book II: Ghost, Chicago Med) and Zak Steine (White Noise, The Holdovers).

Deadline shared that as previously announced, the Sam Levinson (Malcolm & Marie, Assassination Nation)-created series will introduce a five-year time jump, moving the characters beyond high school for the first time. A teaser released last month hinted at darker territory ahead, including Rue’s confrontation with a ruthless kingpin portrayed by Akinnuoye-Agbaje.

According to Deadline, if Domingo’s comments are any indication, Euphoria Season 3 isn’t just returning  it’s aiming to reshape what prestige television can be.
