Salmon has just joined the new FOX event series, Deadline reports.
The British actor will portray General Coburn, “an intelligent, powerful and fiercely loyal man who does not suffer fools no matter what rank.”
The new FOX limited series represents the next chapter in the show 24, picking up the story four years after its previous ending.
It is expected to adhere to the same format of covering the events of a single day, with each episode representing an hour of that day, although this time there will be a few jumps forward between some of the episodes.
The show’s cast includes many characters already known, like the lead, Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) and also James Heller (William Devane), Chloe O’Brien (Mary Lynn Rajskub) and Audrey Raynes (Kim Raver).
Colin Salmon, who now joins them, is best-known for his role as Charles Robinson in three James Bond movies, although he also has some TV experience, with shows such as Arrow, Some Girls and Single Ladies.
24: Live Another Day will premiere with a two-hour episode on Sunday, May 5 on FOX.
