A bizarre report from a Washington-based fan convention found Cobra Kai star Martin Kove in trouble with a fellow actor. According to Deadline, the Karate Kid actor allegedly bit his female co-star, Alicia Hannah-Kim (Minx, Crash), on the arm at the Washington State Summer Con event.
Deadline reports Hannah-Kim claims she walked past Kove’s meet-and-greet table when he allegedly grabbed and bit her arm. Drawing blood, Hannah-Kim alleges Kove then immediately kissed her arm, supposedly where he had previously left a wound. Hannah-Kim and her husband, Sebastian Roche (1923, The Young Pope), who witnessed the alleged incident, allegedly told Kove his behavior was unacceptable. They claim Kove became angry and insisted his action was out of fun.
According to Deadline, the police were called and arrived to take Hannah-Kim’s statement. While Hannah-Kim did not file charges, she requested an informational report to be filed and had her arm photographed. Members of the Puyallup Police Department informed Kove he had to leave the event.
Hannah-Kim and Kove attended the con as part of a larger group from the Netflix series, according to Deadline. They were joined by castmates Tanner Buchanan (The Fosters, Designated Survivor), Patrick Luwis (The Dropout, Barbie), Mary Mouser (Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, Son of the Mask), and Rayna Vallandingham (Underdog Kids, Pawns).
Cobra Kai was an extension of the famed The Karate Kid film franchise. Following the two leads into adulthood as senseis of their respective dojos, what began as a YouTube Original series later became a hit on Netflix. The show aired its final sixth season this year in three parts.
According to Deadline, Kove reprised his film role as John Kreese for the show along with film stars Ralph Macchio (Karate Kid: Legends, The Outsiders) and William Zabka (Back to School, Hot Tub Time Machine). Hannah-Kim’s Kim Da-Eun joined the series in season five.
