WARNING: Major spoilers from Cobra Kai Season 6, Part 2 are revealed below.
According to Deadline, Hayden Schlossberg, co-creator of Cobra Kai, makes his acting debut in the sixth season, Part 2. Schlossberg is taking on a role as Ezra, Terry Silver’s flashy attorney, played by Thomas Ian Griffith (The Karate Kid Part III). Ezra first appears alongside Silver in Episode 9, titled “Blood In, Blood Out.” This marks a notable moment for Schlossberg, who has been part of the series’ creative team but had never taken on an acting role—until now.
Schlossberg, who co-created Cobra Kai with Jon Hurwitz (Harold & Kumar, American Reunion) and Josh Heald (Hot Tub Time Machine) as a tribute to The Karate Kid, explained that while he hadn’t initially planned on acting in the show, the opportunity to play Terry Silver’s lawyer felt like the perfect fit. “I didn’t necessarily want to be in the series, but I’ve always liked the idea of acting,” he told Deadline. “I’m not an actor who wants to pursue it unless it’s the right type of role, and being Silver’s lawyer was definitely that role.”
Since the events of Season 5, the trio had discussed the possibility of Terry getting arrested, and Schlossberg was eager to bring his vision of the legal team to life. Hurwitz and Heald playfully teased their friend about his potential rise to fame, but Schlossberg remains humble, joking that he’s still the same person he’s always been. Whether Hurwitz and Heald will make cameo appearances in the final episodes remains a mystery, though Deadline has confirmed that surprises are still to come.
In Cobra Kai, set over 30 years after the Karate Kid’s 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament, the rivalry between Daniel LaRusso, played by Ralph Macchio (The Outsiders, My Cousin Vinny), and Johnny Lawrence, played by William Zabka (Hot Tub Time Machine), continues. Part 2 of Season 6 takes the Miyagi-Do dojo to the Sekai Taikai, where they face new challenges and old enemies while fighting to become world champions, all while internal tensions threaten to tear them apart.
Netflix has dropped a batch of five episodes of Cobra Kai, with the final installment set to premiere early next year.
