

Action star Chuck Norris (Agent Recon, Crime Boss: Rockay City) has passed away today. He was known for his martial arts prowess and his death was announced on Instagram by his family.
For those who don’t know, Carlos Ray Norris was born on March 10, 1994 in Ryan, Oklahoma. As a young man he joined the U.S. Air Force and would later dedicate his life to martial arts. During his time in martial arts he met the legendary Bruce Lee (Game of Death, Enter the Dragon), and moved to Hollywood to train film stars in combat. In 1972 he was in the movie The Way of the Dragon which has the notable scene in which Lee and Norris fought each other on the silver screen. As the years went on Norris would be apart of other projects and make a name for himself in Hollywood. Norris would eventually land his signature role in 1993 on CBS in Walker and Texas Ranger which was an action series inspired by Norris’ Lone Wolf McQuade. In Texas Ranger Norris played Texas Ranger Sgt. Cordell Walker, an ex-Marine and Vietnam vet raised on a Cherokee reservation after his parents were murdered. With his martial arts and hunting skills Walker was fighting crimes, being a crusader of justice, and implementing moral values.
According to Deadline, Norris’ family posted this information regarding his passing, “‘It is with heavy hearts that our family shares the sudden passing of our beloved Chuck Norris yesterday morning,’ the family posted today. ‘While we would like to keep the circumstances private, please know that he was surrounded by his family and was at peace.’ ‘To the world, he was a martial artist, actor, and a symbol of strength,’ the statement continues. ‘To us, he was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, an incredible brother, and the heart of our family. He lived his life with faith, purpose, and an unwavering commitment to the people he loved. Through his work, discipline, and kindness, he inspired millions around the world and left a lasting impact on so many lives.’” Norris was hospitalized in Hawaii after suffering from a medical emergency and was later pronounced dead.
Norris is survived by his wife Gena O’Kelley and his children Mike, Eric, Dina, Danilee, and Dakota along with his brother Aaron Norris and his numerous grandchildren. Norris will be missed but he will never be forgotten.
