The worlds of The Big Bang Theory and Back to the Future will collide on Dec. 1.
Christopher Lloyd, comic legend, is slated to guest star on the Dec. 1 episode of Big Bang Theory, The Hollywood Reporter revealed Wednesday.
“We’re so excited to be working with Christopher Lloyd, and think we’ve created a fun part that fans will really enjoy,” the sitcom’s exec producers said Wednesday in a joint statement.
Lloyd, who won three Emmys for his role on Taxi, was also recently enlisted to guest star on Syfy’s time-travel drama 12 Monkeys.
Speaking to THR about the roles that are still to be filled in the show, showrunner Steve Molaro said “Howard’s father is something that’s always floating around the ether, but there are no plans at the moment.”
Beyond Lloyd, Big Bang Theory’s impressive guest-star repertoire includes Stephen Hawking and Taxi alum Judd Hirsch.
CBS also hopes to launch a Big Bang Theory prequel centering on Sheldon’s youth.
The Big Bang Theory airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
