The third season of the series Yellowjackets has already taken off and viewers are eagerly waiting for any new info on the new season. According to comicbook.com, Christina Ricci (The Addams Family) has given some inside scoop as to what season three has in store. She told The Hollywood Reporter that the season will have more shocks, surprises, and every twist that Yellowjackets can have.
According to comicbook.com, Ricci told The Hollywood Reporter that this upcoming season is going to be “brutal”. She could only explain it plainly as “Yellowjackets-y”. She said, “This season is going to be even more shocking and surprising than the previous seasons,” Ricci continues, “it’s definitely going to be brutal. But they also put a lot of comedy into it. So, I think it’s just going to be… extremely Yellowjackets-y.”
With this new season, the filming has been a little bittersweet with the absence of one of her castmates Juliet Lewis (Natural Born Killers). Her absence comes with the SPOILER ALERT!! killing off of her character Natalie, who was in fact accidentally killed by the character Ricci portrays, Misty. Ricci commented on how different it is without her previous castmate and how it feels slightly sad.
“We bonded and spent so much time together, and we just really loved each other. It was really sad for her character to be killed off,” Ricci said. “Even now, we’ve filmed a couple of episodes, and it’s sad without Juliet.”
The series is about a high school girls soccer team who survive a massive plane crash which lands them in the deep wilderness of Canada. Throughout the show, the story jumps between the timelines of the 1990s in the direct aftermath of the crash and the present day. It follows both the story of the team struggling to survive in the wilderness and the story of how much it impacted each girl in the long run. Which then reveals something more sinister and scary than a plane crash, as what they experienced in the woods isn’t really over.
