Chopped host Ted Allen announced that he and longtime love Barry Rice are engaged!
Three hours before the announcement, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that gay couples are entitled to the same federal benefits as straight couples. In addition, the court rejected to hear the challenge to a lower court’s decision that a ban on gay marriage was unconstitutional in 2012.
Allen and Rice were together ten years before Allen’s big TV break as the “food and wine connoisseur” on Queer Eye for Straight Guy, reports E! News.
The couple lives in New York, where gay couples have been able to legally marry since 2011, when Governor Andrew Cuomo passed a marriage equality bill.
Allen has been referring to Rice as his husband during interviews since his TV break.
